We took a trip to North Carolina at the tail end of Hurricane Rita. That was the Hurricane right after Hurricane Katrina. When we got there, the hotel which had our booking had leaking and flooding damage. The owner recommended that we drove at least seven miles inland before trying to find another hotel. During our cruising up and down, we saw a lot of abandoned boats. I could image that with two hurricanes, boats got toasted up and down the waves. They were banged against the shore again and again. These boats might have reached to a point of no return, thus got abandoned.
