Gold Chain

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4

Hidden in the rocks, its value

Waits to be found.

Digging, hitting, pounding.

Comes above the ground.

What does it want to be?

It doesn’t know.

Master’s Mind has decided,

Before it’s assigned.

Furnace it must go through,

Breaking, burning, melting.

Fluid now it presents.

It must lose the self;

A ring on the finger,

A pendant on the chain,

    • Thank you for your comment and sharing. I remember as a new Christian, I asked God to help me grow, then trials come. I didn’t know that it was God’s way to help me grow. As people say, be careful of what you ask for, you might get it. Yes, I got it. At least at the end, I realized that I learned… from trials. Pray for you…for what you’re going through right now!! 🙂

  1. Wow–lovely! Before I had gained any maturity in my faith walk, I despaired of verses talking about trials, testing…my life had been already so hard. But these days, I’m much better at receiving such words–for He has been faithful to bring me through so much, and I KNOW I can trust Him. Is there anything better than being in love with Jesus? (As you are a happily married woman, I understand THAT love must rate very high 🙂 ) xxoo, Delyn
